Your computer and the Roland both think that they are the master (actually...in a way they both are). This can cause a crash when both devices try to access the scsi chain at the same time! You need software to do a scsi dump (stating the obvious) tkorpipa@siba.fi wrote: > this list seems mightly quiet or have i been dropped from it... anyway: > > could someone eloborate how do i do a midi sds (sorry, haven't got the > scsi sorted out yet) dump to 760? and sorry, i can't read the phookin' > manual as it's lost in my home, errr... studio. > > it does understand standard sample dumps? i guess so. how's the scsi > support for sample transfer? > > thanks, > > t-mu > > :::: e-mail tkorpipa@siba.fi ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: > :::: kiva/ruumen - http://www.siba.fi/~tkorpipa :::::::::::::::::::::: > :: 'i wanna be a happy person. that's why i have yamaha headphones' :: > ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: - lee perry - :::: > > - > Sent by the sgroup mailing list on lists.uunet.ca > For subscription information, send mail to majordomo@lists.uunet.ca - Sent by the sgroup mailing list on lists.uunet.ca For subscription information, send mail to majordomo@lists.uunet.ca From owner-sgroup Thu Nov 12 17:02:13 1998 Received: by hugin.uunet.ca id <193678-21486>; Thu, 12 Nov 1998 16:56:04 -0500 Received: from hotmail.com (f199.hotmail.com [207.82.251.90]) by hugin.uunet.ca with SMTP id <193671-21486>; Thu, 12 Nov 1998 16:56:01 -0500 Received: (qmail 15411 invoked by uid 0); 12 Nov 1998 21:55:55 -0000 Message-ID: <19981112215555.15410.qmail@hotmail.com> Received: from 198.62.191.3 by www.hotmail.com with HTTP; Thu, 12 Nov 1998 13:55:54 PST X-Originating-IP: [198.62.191.3] From: "D Ramsay" To: jeremy@sampleheads.com Cc: sgroup@lists.uunet.ca Subject: Re: sgroup Drum kits MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Date: Thu, 12 Nov 1998 16:55:54 -0500 Sender: owner-sgroup@lists.uunet.ca Precedence: bulk Jeremy/sgroup, Is there anyway I can get hold of this disk or at least the examples?? To: sgroup@lists.uunet.ca Message-id: <01J4NAKQ8J6890UB7X@EMAIL1.BYU.EDU> Sender: owner-sgroup@lists.uunet.ca Precedence: bulk I stumbled across your Roland Sampler User Group's ftp site on the 'net. I'm actually trying to track down information on connecting multiple S-760's via SCSI to a Mac (to take advantage of Digital Performer's sampler support). All the documentation I've read only describes connecting one sampler to the SCSI chain. Doing the job with just one seems simple enough, but with 3 (and no SCSI pass-through ports on the S-760), I'm at a loss. If anyone on this list has any experience in such a setup (or any other helpful advice), please respond to me directly.
