Their brochure originally stated that the suequences could be saved on hard disk. Not so. After a written complaint via the BBB, all they would do is say they would update the brochure to say it was an error. I doubt if anything else will come from Roland, so I'm wondering: Is it possible to modify the software to save the sequences to hard disk? I know since Roland didn't want to pursue it, that it would be like doing a major rewrite of the software, or? If anyone has looked into this at all, I would appreciate hearing your comments on the subject. Also, are there legal obstacles to prevent one from trying this? Thanks for any info. Hope this helps .... Regards, Don ------- DTycholis.LAX1B@Xerox.COM -- Date: Tue, 19 Jun 90 18:41:00 EST >From: Larry DeLuca To: sgroup@andrew.cmu.edu Subject: Sampling stuff ... I was working on a remix of a song last weekend and we sampled a large hitachi vibrator. I can add it to the pile if anyone's interested. At normal speed it sort of sounds like a vibrator or a high-tech dijeridu. At about 1 or 2 octaves down it sounds like an outboard motor. larry... -- >From: g.f.demarest@mtdca.att.com To: att!arpa!andrew.cmu.edu!sgroup+@mtdca.att.com Date: 27 Jun 1990 15:22 EDT Subject: the secret disks S-folks, A quick note to let you know that I have not forgotten about disks that I have recieved. I've been working overtime so that the days are blended inseperably with the nights. Boo hoo. Anyway, I plan to finish working on all the disks I have this weekend and have them out by mid next week.
