I guess I need to get a little deeper before concluding but overall it was well worth it. Especially at $9.98. I also found an RGB cable for $2.98 extremely long in length. And this guy in the store gave me a 100MB Zip that only cost $0.79! Obviously a trip back to the store that was well worth it. The RGB connection I imagine requires the MU-1 Mouse before I can see that screen. Without it all I get are vertical/horizontal scrolling lines even when changing the LCD/CRT/Mouse combinations. I've heard the action on these things is incredible and the Roland S-700 sampler series CD-ROMs are formatted to be triggered by these synths. What do you think? (NOTE: If you have a JVC style Atari monitor with a removeable cable adaptor, do not remove it). Before connecting the cable to the sampler and monitor, * ENSURE THAT BOTH THE SAMPLER AND MONITOR ARE TURNED OFF! * After connecting the cable, turn on the monitor and sampler and you should see a nice legible display. If the screen looks somewhat distorted at the top or bottom, you may need to turn down the brightness and/or contrast levels of the monitor. If the distortion persists, adjust the HHold potentiometer on the back of the monitor. Be sure to use a non-metalic screwdriver or similar tool to adjust the potentiometer. This adjustment is quite easy since you do not need to remove the monitor cover. If the display looks alright then you are ready to edit samples using the luxury of a quality RGB monitor. The overseas PAL s760s have the TV system option for PAL or NTSC.=

The US (NTSC) s760 did not.

I couldn't find it on mine, either. It should be the overseas model, since I bought it in Australia, and we use the PAL system. I'm currently using an s-video cable to connect the video out, since I can do PIP with an LCD monitor. But, while the display is somewhat legible, the colours are all wrong and I get moving blocks across the display. Could very well be an NTSC vs PAL problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "If it's not on Google, it doesn't exist" - Fiona Walkerden - Sent by the sgroup mailing list on sgroup.ca For subscription information, send mail to majordomo@sgroup.ca and see http://www.generalconcepts.com/sgroup/ for more information. Well, depending on your assumptions it may be a logical conclusion, but I think it's still incorrect. :-) The "TV System" option is applicable to the composite and s-video outputs, but I gather the SC1224 is an RGB monitor, which is quite independent of the different colour-encoding systems for video signals. > I cannot test it unless I start cutting some wires and spending some money > to get all the parts and I sure won't want to waste my time and money just > to find out. So the S-7xx is not in Chickensys currently?
The website has S-7xx listed.  I'm very anxious to expand my library for my S-750.  Is the windows translation table an 'any to any' table.  Any source will convert to any destination?

It's listed as a source, not as a destination. The pages are clear on that, unless I'm missing something. All we have to do is write the performance and patch portions of the code. It's directly based on the XV-5080 implementation (already fully tested), which uses the exact same Partial and Sample format and has the same Perf-Patch-Partial-Sample structure. I should also mention that we "emphasize" every sample just like the Roland does upon sampling, so things aren't dark-sounding. I just started that this morning.
